FAQ
No modifications are required.
Yes, typical pedal effort increase is 20-35% depending on application.
Yes, replacement parts are available through any of our authorized Seco Performance Clutch dealers.
No, Seco Performance Stage 1 and 2 Clutch Kits include CSC slave cylinders and release bearings manufactured by OEM suppliers and are of the highest quality available.
The Stage 1 'Street Performer' kits will drive similar to the OEM clutch but will have an increased pedal effort. The Stage 2 clutch will have a more aggressive engagement and take off RPM may need to be increased for a smoother take off.
We recommend to allow 300~500 miles for the break-in period. During this period the vehicle should be driven easily with no high rpm shifting and no launching.
It is typical to hear a screeching noise after the break in period due to the high metal compound of the friction material used with the stage 2 disc.
When converting over to a solid mass flywheel vs. dual mass flywheel, gear rollover noise is inevitable. Gear rollover noise is often heard when the vehicle is idling or under a load in low RPM ranges (often referred to as sounding like marbles in the transmission). This is completely normal. See below for Gear Rollover Noise details.
Increased gear rollover noise may occur when changing to an aftermarket performance clutch and/or flywheel, including SECO Performance products. The most common gear rollover noise occurs when a vehicle is idling in neutral or under a load in low RPM ranges. It sounds like a light knocking or growling sound. Gear rollover is an audible noise transmitted from the impacts between the transmission gear teeth. A vehicle engine’s torsional vibrations (momentary angular acceleration) pass through a transmission causing the separation and resulting impact of the gear teeth. Gear rollover is not to be confused with clutch chatter or out-of-balance vibrations; both of which are conditions mostly felt and generally, not heard. In general, gear rollover is not harmful to the transmission, but can be an annoyance to the driver. Traditionally, automakers have dampened torsional vibrations by using a clutch disc with a spring-centered design and a heavy flywheel. More recently, however, many have started using a dual-mass flywheel to silence the gear rattle in the transmission. Typically, when a dual-mass flywheel is used, the clutch disc features a rigid-hub (unsprung), instead of a spring-centered hub. When changing from a dual-mass flywheel to a solid flywheel, a spring-centered clutch will help dampen the torsional vibrations and reduce, but not eliminate, gear rollover noise. Other contributors to increased gear noise include: dual-mass flywheel to a single-mass flywheel conversion, a solid or rigid-hub center instead of a spring center, stronger dampening springs in the clutch disc, increased engine performance modifications or a lighter flywheel or clutch assembly. Gear rollover is a commonly accepted trade-off for performance. Gear rollover noise is not a manufacturer’s defect and SECO Performance will not accept warranty claims because of increases in gear noise.

No. As long as the clutch was recommended by us, fits the power that you're making, and isn't being used in a plainly ignorant manner, we'll honor the warranty.
Any fluid contamination, installer error, usage error (yes, this exists), ignorance or irresponsibility, over-powering the unit, under-powering the unit (yes, this exists as well) or not maintaining the unit. If you have an issue just give us a shout and we'll go over things with you in a methodical, technical, and fair way.
